Making some money through Uni

University is a common step for nearly each of us. University gives you a flavor of independent living without throwing you in at the deep end. You’ll usually be broken in gently with a year in the halls, giving you the chance to learn basic life skills like cooking and doing the laundry. Later, you’ll probably live in rented accommodation. Choosing a student house is exciting and insightful, and although you might not relish the thought of cleaning the loo or kitchen sink when you move in, it’s a good experience to take on.

Nevertheless, contact time is often much less than students expect. In a recent survey, nearly two-thirds of students thought they would get more contact time than at school, and a similar number expected to spend more time in lectures than in the classroom. In reality, contact time is usually much less than at school. Courses such as history may have less than 10 hours of weekly contact time. And this will add to a huge amount of free time on your arms “studying”.

Most people will tell you that studying is 24/7 and that it is so hard to keep up, the truth is that there is so much free time you end up not knowing what to do with it. When you realize how much this is costing, you should already start thinking just there how to get a bit more out of the situation.

Here are a few options open to you that you should consider if they feel attractive:

Driver?

With a decent set of wheels and a full license, you can drum up extra money as an Uber driver. It’s easy to register and you can drive any time. Being your boss has its perks. No one is watching over your shoulder and you can decide who you pick up and when to call it a day. To maximize your income, drive your car when prices are surging during high-demand times, like Saturday nights.

Mystery shopper?

Businesses large and small are always on the lookout for mystery shoppers to evaluate the service and quality of their stores. The job involves making a purchase normally in retail or hospitality and then reporting on the experience. If you have good verbal and written communication skills, a good memory, and are reliable, you can get involved with an agency. It’s a unique way to earn some money if you’re an avid shopper anyway!

iGaming?

The most common way people profit from this is thanks to the incredible concurrency the market is experiencing, such as the market for real money online casino Canada. The accessibility of online casinos has made it possible to make use of all the special offers, games styles, and more at all times. Being a very attractive way to make some good income alongside a good time.

App reviewer?

It’s the online equivalent of a mystery shopper. Platforms like UserTesting, Enroll and Whatusersdo, will ask you to browse websites and apps, complete a set of tasks and record your thoughts as you navigate through. For your efforts, they put a small fee into your PayPal account for each review you complete. You (probably) won’t make a living off it, but if you have a spare 20 minutes in your day, it’s an easy way to earn some extra cash.
